High Current Rotary Grounds

ROTOCON® ERG & ERGT Series

Innovative, Maintenance-Free High Current Rotary Grounds

»  Provides consistent low and stable resistance for high current applications»  Robust industrial design provides reliable long lasting performance
»  Requires ZERO grease or routine maintenance»  Remains unaffected by RPM or total number of revolutions

Meridian Laboratory’s series of ROTOCON rotary grounds provide a stable, consistent, and maintenance-free, rotating electrical contact generally used for higher current applications.

ROTOCON rotary grounds are unaffected by instantaneous RPM (for high-speed applications) or the total number of revolutions – ROTOCON rotary grounds oftentimes surpass 500M (million) revolutions without a change in electrical resistance or maintenance/adjustment requirements.

Contrary to conventional brushed rotary grounds and clamps, ROTOCON ERG/MC Series are contactless, deliver stable and consistent current – eliminating fluctuations in current delivery and allowing for higher throughput with more consistency.

All high current ROTOCON rotary grounds are environmentally sealed with 304SS corrosion proof housings to ensure a long service life without maintenance, even in the most challenging manufacturing environments and chemical exposure.

They are also offered with options for RoHS compliance, if necessary.

Meridian Laboratory also offers customized rotary grounding solutions to meet your exact specification, see some examples of custom ROTOCON Rotary Grounds here.

Tired of poor rotary ground consistency? Consistently having to grease and maintain a metal-on-metal rotary ground? Is fluctuating resistance causing variable consistency in your process, leading to scrapped product?  If you are experiencing any of these problems associated with traditional rotary grounds, a ROTOCON rotary ground is the solution.

Suitable for all environments and applications including rotary welding, electro-plating, electro-polishing, cutting, and other high current rotating industrial applications, the ROTOCON ERG/MC & ERGT Series is designed to withstand 100% duty cycles in continuous manufacturing and production processes, without interruption or downtime. The ROTOCON’s brush-free design eliminates all issues such as maintaining brush contact and conductivity, does not require application of conductive greases, and eliminates elevated contact resistance associated with conventional brushed rotary grounds. With the ERG Series, you will achieve a more consistent ground, with zero fluctuations in resistivity, or elevated contact resistance over time and revolutions; this will lead to a better end product in rotational welding, plating, polishing, and other high current applications that require rotation.  ROTOCON rotary grounds can be used interchangeably on the positive or negative (ground) of an application without any difference in performance.

ROTOCON rotary grounds are available both in end of shaft (ERG Series) and through-bore (ERGT Series) configurations in a range of amperage levels.  For applications requiring high frequency AC and high current (for sputtering deposition, and other similar applications), Meridian Laboratory offers specialized versions to accommodate for temperature rise due to eddy currents and skin effect.
